For DrTalos (The Art of Writing).
« on: May 22, 2019, 11:25:09 AM »
Are there writers or published authors among you? I have started this thread in the hope of opening a discussion on the art of writing and this first post is specifically for DrTalos.
DrTalos, you mentioned some time back that you are a writer so I have included a first draft of the introduction to a book I am currently working on. You seemed to be interested in the subject matter at one point so I have taken the liberty of igniting the flame.

Introduction
A fallen tree now lies bare, the last dried leaf disturbed by a summer breeze floats upward like a kite then dives down to settle in a bed of fresh green. This once great tree now drawn to the soil that held it firmly from its time beginning submits in a grand gesture to feeding the new. A nature born symbiotic union it was, tree and soil weathering bitter storms together, protecting and nourishing each other season in and season out, to this point. This once great tree had with nature’s hand spread many seeds and did see in sunlight warmth the waving of young dew-soaked leaves in his direction. A young one stands visibly distraught by the fall of the life giver, some roots torn from their soil anchor, exposed to blistering sun as they wither in their weaved embrace of the fallen one. Time will heal this young one and reshape his direction to the heavens but the scars of that dreadful day will be etched in his twisted trunk till at his own day of reckoning he will be welcomed complete by the soil.
Such is the story of mortals. Surviving through generation after generation where each generation become the pioneers of a new course upward toward the promise of the most high. The journey always complicated, myriad lessons of roots past ignored as the counting number with peace and war rises and falls but always adding length to the hangman’s rope. This, the odyssey of a nation bound to the soil with heart and soul yet always thankful to the most high for the deliverance of generations into time.
The hour of reckoning is now upon this nation who stand scattered in union. Their roots to origin severed by their own kind. Likeness of being now cloaked as sin through the acceptance of guilt, is in agreement scripted into law by both the guilty by association and the victims of civilizations advancement. Like a raging forest fire spurred on by migratory saplings the cloak has gathered wings and sown seed in distant lands to mortify this new ideal and hold back retaliation as roots are dug up and cast into the burning sun to die a slow painful withering of greatness.  A promise to God, kept and passed through generations stands as a monument where annually on the day of that promise the noon sun will be most prominent on an inscribed bed bringing to light the pillar of this now forlorn nation.

Micky, I'm no Shakespeare but I hope you don't mind some constructive criticism.  :D
You obviously have talent but I'm damned if I can understand what you're trying to get across. It's good poetry but poor prose; or maybe it's supposed to be poetry?
What is your book about? is it fiction or nonfiction?

Hi Joe, thanks for the comments, I appreciate it.
The book is non-fiction. It will be based on historic facts of the Boer nation in particular but will also include other nations around the world.
What the Boer nation is facing at this time (in history) is no different to what many nations around the world are facing.
There will be several pieces of writing like the introduction in the book but the bulk of the writing will be less poetic and more prose.

To understand the introduction you need to understand the Boers and their relationship to God and land. At the battle of Blood River (16 December 1838) fought between 470 Boers and about 12 000 Zulu warriors, the Boers were victorious. Before the battle began the Boers made a covenant with God that if he blessed them with victory they would honour him every year on that day.
At the Voortrekker monument in Pretoria on 16 December the sun shines through an opening in the center of the roof and at exactly 12 noon falls directly on a Cenotaph (empty tomb) at the base of the monument with an inscription on it that says...... This day was always know as the day of the covenant and celebrated as a public holiday every year. It is still a public holiday but is now called "day of reconciliation".
The Boers were and still are deeply religious people. Their roots lie in God and land.

The book deals with historic facts and carries through beyond current times into the future. I will rely on the words of Siener Van Rensburg (Boer Prophet) to have a glimpse into the future. To date, Siener Van Rensburg has been on point with his predictions. You may find the story about this remarkable man extremely interesting. In one of his visions he saw his own children die in a British concentration camp. Imagine having to live with that fact before it actually occurred?

I love writing and am fairly capable at the task. I used to write papers for university students on a variety of different subjects but all the research I had to do took the wind out of my sails. I'm lucky because I have the luxury of time.

Godfrey, old chap, nice of you to pop in for tea. That's a very British name you picked; best pronounced with a stiff upper lip.
You say these things because you don't really know me as a person. I'm a very open person and enjoy conversations with others. I'd like to have a discussion with you and find out why you have brought your sword to afternoon tea? Do you perhaps wish to challenge me in a war of words? I am most willing but please put the sword away. There has been enough killing.

How rude of me! I just noticed that dear Godfrey registered on the forum today and his post above is his first post on the forum. How odd! Well, I hope to read some roulette related posts from Godfrey.

By the way, welcome to the forum old chap.

You are pretty good with words, I admit that. But even fancy sugarcoated words and sentences cannot hide a person's personality/characteristics. Even when it's written on a bloody forum.

I've been on roulette forums way before you've popped by.. young man. If we go in roulette generations you are 5th and I am probably 2nd.

But I am not here to debate or to argue, just wanted to share my views on you. You can ofcourse do whatever floats your boat. Feel free.

Godfrey, "bloody" was a very common word used by the English in the last century. The phrase "young man" was also used by the English in the last century. When you use that phrase it has nothing to do with age, it gives the person using it a sense of superiority or (false) security. It says "I'm better than you". You go on to state why you feel you are better than me and with that you come back to age and knowledge based experience by scoring generations between us. We may have to test your claim of superiority but I don't care too much for losers who have been hanging around roulette forums since their inception.

I do appreciate your negative view of me as a person. To me it means I am still alive and I'm still my old self. I don't think I'll ever sell my soul to the devil.

Righty right old chap, pretty decent of you to spend your energy on me and by the by, glad you feel I have a way with words; thanks to a British based education. One last thing before you go; glad you grew a pair and finally posted on the forum, however; I think you are an existing member who created a new profile because you are too yellow to face me head on. Now take your meds, it's past your bedtime.

Godfrey, I read the description of MickyP's still life for reasons of "clinical analysis". Thanks to you (your message), he feels alive. You see, he has a great need of the gaze of others not to feel the things that are deadly in him that haunt him. On the literary level, his "Introduction" isn't an introduction. And, he only needs a few lines to mislead his reader into a maze of things that get entangled.

There are books on literary art, and when a person talks about writing a book, it normally has the reflex to study this art, before proposing a creation. But this essay, without the rules of literary aesthetics, will make one think of the free expression in patients of psychiatry who will paint according to their moods and be relieved (for a moment). MickyP sees and says particularly strange things. A few days ago, I talked about the "illusions of inexperienced players". He replied that there were "vampires and zombies" in my speech, and that I do not speak in a "normal" way! I let you interpret what this reversal normality / abnormality means (the sign of a deep despair and no return imagined?).

For writing, I can only advise MickyP to do as with roulette, find mentors and say the same thing (but mentors who are not losers). In this regard, he had invented that he won roulette with parameters he borrowed from Mr.J and MrPerfect: 200 units per session, play a few numbers, use a progression negative, stop gain / loss. I demonstrated that his progression negative was a hoax, I explained that the stop gain / loss was an idea invented by those who don’t have a winning method (this to lose less quickly). Lately, He again presented his parameters. MickyP does not talk anymore about progression or "stop" because he knows that I don’t tell anything. But, now he's doing palestis, he's observing many of his methods (they all win) and he plays those who are late in profit!

You will believe me Godfrey, if I say that MickyP is not 5 th (in experience) on this forum. He invented his romantic winner character to feel alive on this forum. Players spend their lives without finding a single winning method but, MickyP, he found many that are excellent, perhaps unheard of (18,000 $ in 20 days by winning 12 units per day)! How does he play 20 days a month? He spends hours on the forums, he has a personal life to assume! But, why does a player, who earns 18,000 $ (a month) at the roulette, not want to pay a man of letters to give him advice? He wants that for free! To tell the truth, this book story is a new hoax, nothing is structured!

I am also a Siener van Rensburg fan. I read Adrian Snyman and Flip Pretorius's books on him.
He is a legend in South African folklore.

Bla bla bla bla yawn yawn.

Do you want a sticker, lolly or medal Micky?

Who gives a f*** about your status on a roulette forum? If you want to be alpha male here then be my guest. I don't really care. I've just expressed my views on you and as you can see I am not the only one. I've registered especially for you because I can't stand your ramblings filling up all the space here with your bulls*** to put yourself on this imaginary pedestal of yours. You want everyone to like you and respect you, but you never will be an another Palestis, just to name one.

You talk like you own this place or like you're moderator, s*** no. Just another piece of turd.

Now adios.

You are right Badger, Siener Van Rensburg is a legend. His predictions are very accurate with detailed descriptions of events that can pinpoint a place or person. With his gift he was able to help the Boers evade the Pommies (English). He never took up arms and he only read one book in his entire life, the Holy Bible.

PMS (Stratege) and Septic (Scepticus), the snake oil preacher and his congregation of one remind me of the Democrats in the USA. MickyP must be impeached! In this case you would like Kav to ban me from the forum.

Kav, if you feel I should be banned after this post then I accept your decision.

PMS, your sermon is flawed as usual but I won't scrutinize your poor writing skills to try and embarrass you. You do a sterling job embarrassing yourself on your own.
Your maths is flawed in your representation of my goal setting totals. It is 12 units per session; 8 sessions a day, 20 days a month With  R10.00 chips on B/M tables. These values reflect an average based on my MONEY MANAGEMENT PRINCIPALS. I talk about common knowledge methods posted on the forum; ones that I have tested and modified to suit my play style.
PMS, you don't play roulette so even if you have read many roulette books, you have no authority pushing your concepts forward for approval. I wouldn't trust you if I was a newbie on the circuit.

I am not ashamed to admit (I have admitted on numerous occasions) that I have adopted ideas from Mr J, MrPerfect, DrTalos, Palestis, Dobbelsteen, Kav, Real and many more players of substance. Sorry Septic, got nothing from you but as a consolation prize you and PMS have given me hours of good entertainment. Baie Dankie! (Afrikaans for Thank You). Is learning and sharing not what the forum is all about?

The Vampires and Zombies thing was a bit of dark humour; live with it.

I still use progressions, triggers, stop losses and session targets. I must be very bad at losing because although I lose an average of about 20 sessions in 20 days I still somehow manage to reach my monthly target. I think I owe my luck to the fact that I don't play RNG, airball or online roulette.
I played the Dozen Drive for a dew sessions today and won every session with a healthy surplus win total as well. Tables were great, not too busy and I was done in three hours.

PMS, South Africa has got Internet and I do not need to be at home in front of my computer to post on the forum. By the way, you did not prove anything with regard to how I play. You couldn't have because you have never had all the rules of my methods. You use EC bets in your examples and I don't play EC bets.

Anyway, the fact that you two loony tunes characters took the time to read my work put a smile on my face.
My style of writing may not appeal to you two and I understand that. If you don't like what I write/post then don't read it and don't comment on it. If you are going to comment on my posts then at least offer a better alternative to forum readers. What both of you have presented above can be defined as trolling.

Godfrey, Godfrey, Godfrey, what can I say that will have the effect of a happy pill for you? Nothing really.
I am not in competition with anyone on the forum. I look up to Palestis as a solid player who has taught me many things. I, in turn, have shared with him. There is no competition. I give credit where credit is due.

It is IMPORTANT that you three stooges understand; I'm not here to build up a fan club and will not be signing any of your paraphernalia at all.

Guys, when you feel some tension, it's better not to react again and again and again on internet. It's not like IRL where a conversation can solve a problem. Here we can't add emotions on text ; it's so easy to get what you read in a different way than who has written. It's also so easy to hide behind a nickname with consequence that your ego is like 10x bigger than IRL.
In place of creating sad conversations, just let it go, just ignore whoever you don't like and let at least some respect rule the place.
You're men or children, at one point, it's just this, when your goal is supposed to be wisdom.

It must be explained that the reaction of some members against MickyP is legitimate, because there is no moderator who controls and intervenes regularly. Some members need to be mentored or they will express their hate and violence for no reason, no limit. If people leave too much "freedom" for a single psychopath, soon it will be a bunch of fascists who will attack the people. I do not give an example. Personally, a member can tell what he wants, but if he attacks others or my person, I intervene. It’s very inappropriate to be criticized for no reason with profanity. It’s unacceptable to receive "offensive remarks" afterwards because one defends oneself politely. These hateful people make fun of polite responses. So, another way, here, is to show that these members are telling nonsense about roulette. This serves all members, especially beginners, by explaining something about roulette.

I propose a new analysis of MickyP's message. He says he owes his "luck" to win because he does not play RNG or line! The wording of his sentence is very revealing! Then, a few months ago, he gave the size of his game notebook (about the size of a postage stamp). How does he do for the notation of his methods? How can he do the calculations of several methods, often in less than a minute? How can he, with 200 units expect to earn an average of 96 units per visit to the casino? Expecting 50% of one's bankroll per day is unrealistic, especially if you win so regularly. The methods that MickyP quotes to win, don’t win, and we know he does not have the technical level to change that.

I also repeat that its progression negative are a hoax (it’s also an additional calculation work in this single minute, and the more complicated placement of the chips, MickyP is really very strong!). I know this may disappoint a lot of members and readers but, the reality is that the progression negative (PN) requires too many units in reserve, the highest bets (with many units) will rarely be played. So, it's money that sleeps without profit. The PN can lose 20 to 30% of the gains obtained in flat bet. A (true) winning player understands this by testing his progression. I don’t need to know MickyP's methods to say that.

On the other hand, we all know that the more we question a person who invents, the more he will invent. Very funny, this member plays and wins all year with methods found on this forum! His "Dozen Drive" is only 10% of what it takes to build a winning game with several mechanisms (which he does not know). It’s certain that rudeness and offensive word is often a method that wins on a forum. But one day the “variance” arrives to show that it is finally a losing method. The variance is the other members who come to counter the abuses. In his latest message MickyP fears being banned, so he avoided insulting! Tthe reaction of several members is therefore useful for framing MickyP. It can "work normally" if it lives in fear, it's unfortunate but it's like that!

Thank you Shaldoryn. You actually addressed the first part of Stratege's post. He blames the lack of moderation or sees it as a forum weakness. Having a moderator is a good control measure to keep emotions from flaring up. This unfortunately is a trait in us humans that is meshed into our personalities.
Whether I use decent language or profanities in my posts I am labeled and branded either way. This issue is a personal one and has much to do with my political and world views.
Once again Shaldoryn, thank you for your level headed post. I will now address the conspirators of the "MickyP is fake Dossier". This of course is with no disrespect to you.
It’s unacceptable to receive "offensive remarks" afterwards because one defends oneself politely. These hateful people make fun of polite responses. So, another way, here, is to show that these members are telling nonsense about roulette. This serves all members, especially beginners, by explaining something about roulette.

This first paragraph is all about me. This is not the first time I have been called such vulgar names. "Hate, violence, psychopath, fascist; all in one paragraph.
My line has always been that if a person speaks about me in a post I will respond. I see PMS has now adopted that line. Stratege, you have often insulted me and addressed me in a condescending manner but here you are pleading innocence.
The cherry on the cake (very Dem like) lies in the second last sentence of the paragraph "So, another way, here, is to show that these members are telling nonsense about roulette.". In order for PMS to even the playing field, he has resorted to branding anything I say about roulette as nonsense. Can anyone afford to take this guy seriously?

PMS, I'm sure you watch CNN a lot because you are good at fabricating stories. I laughed when I read how small my notebook is. Please find the post regarding this 007 notebook so everyone can see how secretive I am.
All my calculations are done and dusted at home during testing. I know what to bet, when to bet and how much to bet. That information is stored in my memory but I still use a notebook or casino score card to record my game. I only refer to a few systems on the forum that I have modified for my play style because people on the forum can study the system (posted and discussed on the forum). I have other methods that I use but do not refer to them because readers will not be able to cross reference my posts.

As an exercise I took 4 average systems and played them over a three day period (on paper; a total of 24 sessions) to test the strength of my Money Management Plan. I recorded one lost session in the exercise.
It's fine if you don't think I have the technical know how to play roulette successfully. I have lived off my roulette profits since 2015. I guess I've just had a long lucky streak.
Playing B/M casino tables is a game on its own. Players who have done their homework have ample time to prepare for the next spin.

Then please don't associate me with your EC Martingale style of play. I have addressed this issue in the paragraph above.

On the other hand, we all know that the more we question a person who invents, the more he will invent. Very funny, this member plays and wins all year with methods found on this forum! His "Dozen Drive" is only 10% of what it takes to build a winning game with several mechanisms (which he does not know). Tthe reaction of several members is therefore useful for framing MickyP. It can "work normally" if it lives in fear, it's unfortunate but it's like that!

The Dozen Drive as posted on the forum is the basic skeleton of the method. I have developed my own parameters and rules of play for this method. Please note, I do not call it a system as I have created a Method from the skeleton.

You are wrong PMS, I don't fear being banned but I do try and make an effort to adhere to the forum rules. See, there we go again; "frame MickyP". Hahaha, No fear here my boy!
You so desperately wanted me to explode but you see, this is how I deal with variance.

I think my answering Sratege directly may bring this impeachment process to an end. So sad that this thread and my previous one were derailed by the stooges.
