New world record???
« on: February 01, 2019, 02:47:15 AM »
This evening I personally witnessed a run of red results topping out at 29.
I have been gambling close to 30 yrs, and have seen some long streaks on the ec's, but never 29.

This was a live wheel at a legit casino.
Anyone ever see anything longer at a brick and mortar casino?
The streak was broken by lucky #13.

The story tells that at the casino of montecarlo 34 numbers of the same color came out without any intervals of zeros

I suspect cheating/bias.  Was any attention called to this event?

No cheating.
Bias? On red or black? Ahhh,no....
The games manager could have cared less. This is a casino, and nothing stays the same in there eyes.
Results are results, and to them that event provokes the novice into a "betting against" frenzie.
But to the credit of most players present at the time, the wave was surfed.
It was also not a mom and pop shop, no casino would risk its license toying with such a bet.
It was cool to witness though.
Same dealer the entire streak and plenty of fragmented time lapses, nothing any different than any other 29 spins.

In reality it's just a pattern ....less the zeros.....1 /  536,870,912
There is a new one every ball drop.
Same type of feeling you get when seeing natural rare events, i.e. Eclipses, comets, Sasquatch.
Maybe a new US record?

Ya, I love that feeling; its like deep sea diving or snowy mountain free climbing.

And then of course there is the A-Team Motto:

As far as bias "on Red or Black", numbers remain the same color from spin to spin.

Third / Reyth, I certainly can see your point in wanting to believe that there is some sort of bias, however what I will say is that nothing " out of the ordinary " stood out in the terms of a dominant group of red numbers.
The fact that there are another 536,870,911 permutations that are possible within the same 29 result confine, many of which would contain dominant red results does not make those results bias either.
I know, I know, I know, you or anyone else could make the argument that we can't possibly know if my opinion is more valid than yours unless tests were done over thousands of spin results to see if there are any red numbers that have a clear bias.
So riddle me this......
If tomorrow, I was playing at the same wheel, and personally witnessed the black numbers creating a 29 blacks in a row permutation, again, a 1 / 536,870,912 pattern, would you hold the same opinion of bias?
I sure hope not......

Though, I hope I do see it, just because it's kewl".......

I did all this years ago, its in my rear view. A hot color AND betting on the hot numbers within that color only.
All failed.

Ken,
Who or where do you see any betting being discussed? Other than in my original description of the live event?
I can assure you that money was made and also money was lost by the folk that decided to bet against for a brief attempt. But that was not the point of my post.
My post is meant to merely share my experience and see if anyone else has had similar observations.
Even you would find reason to be entertained by simply being at a table while this was happening and people watching.
To be clear, it was just fun to be there when it was happening.

Neither myself nor Bayes can even demonstrate by simulation anything beyond 25 consecutive results of an EC.  This result is so far above the norm that I can only suspect something is wrong in some way.  Its perfectly reasonable for us to assume so; I mean you even say 30 years of gambling has never shown you this result.  Neither you nor myself should expect to ever see this result in our individual lifetimes:

0.0000000008414971511940506 is a 1.188358E+09 to 1 event, measured in EC coup attempts; for us ordinary mortals this is 1,188,358,000 to 1 which is 1 billion, 188 million, 358 thousand to 1.

Assuming that you and I live to 70 years each, that is 140 years * 365 = 51,100 days where we are spinning the wheel from the day we are are born but there is no way that we can spin the wheel 23,255 times in a single day!

We need Mr. J to help us with the spinning...

Sure you can, Ken.
Your past experience would be better served telling the whole class what the longest run on an ec that you ever remember being a part of was . Or any, way out of whack, results that in all your years in B&M play you got to see live.
In my opinion, similar to yours, you know exactly who frequents a live casino, just by the stories they tell.
Like about 8 years ago, I saw, with my own two eyes the number 25 hit 5 times in a row at Ceasars, Atlantic city.
And, to top it off, there was a dealer change and a money / chip delivery during the run. Sadly, I did nothing about it, because that is not my style of play, but I caught the 5th result with a quarter on it just because it is a number I play in the event I am betting the inside due to my mothers birthday and the section of the wheel I cover. But a skilled player that looks for such events would have made the gravey and sopped it up with a biscuit .
Also I saw at the same casino, different wheel same day 23 reds in a row.
That the type of participation is what I was hoping to hear.

Why, its meaningless. If you need to know the LONGEST of any of the betting spots, take up BINGO.

Third / Reyth,
I get your point, but did you ever consider the amount of players that are NOT on these forums that might have seen such an anomaly?
Or,
The limitations of your calculations when considering all the wheels in all the lands, most spinning a good portion of the day? Or any other of the dozens of possible variables?  You need to frequent a B&M a couple of times to experience the dynamics. Get out from behind the computer.
I agree with you it is incredibly rare, hence the reason for this topic, but there was no foul play or obvious bias as I stated before. For the record this happend at the Trop, AC. Any Vb player that's wants to contact me in private is more than welcome to, and I will take them to the Physical wheel and they can do what they do, if they can prove bias, I will be the first to say I was wrong. I also hope they put the casinos lights out as a result. In the past REAL stated that the Trop was not a good place for VB, but maybe he was wrong.
Non the less all your computer simulations do is convince you that the unlikely event that happened, should not have happened, but it did and appeared to do so very organically.
It's just a permutation, far too big to do anything with it, except to turn and paddle with it and ride the wave if that is what one chooses to do.

Ken, I don't NEED to know anything.
This was human interest stuff.
And if it was meaningless, why reply in the first place?
Had you been the one to see this event, you would have started a thread and taken the time to shred all the players at the table for one reason or another, and that is your perogative, but do not deny that events like these give guys like you reasons to post your experience and expound on your perspective of said event.
You enjoy the banter too much to overlook the opportunity.
