The Devil's Game (Roulette for your life)
« on: December 28, 2018, 04:54:03 AM »

You receive an exclusive invite to a VIP room from a sharply dressed man with a goatee and an irresistible inflection.  You enter the room and the table is occupied by other figures who appear to be unaware of your presence.  You look at your watch and notice it isn't functioning.  You check your phone and see that it's seemingly dead.  There are no cameras or means of surveillance in the room.

Just you, the sharp dressed man, and other silent players placing their bets.
The units wagered are intervals of one's lifespan, your predetermined genetic expiry has been revealed to you under the condition that once you leave the VIP room you'll remember nothing of this.  The wheel is European.

Do you play or walk away?
If you play, what kind of BR would you be willing to wager?
What would your strategy be?

For the sake of this hypothetical, you can choose how many more years you have as your total bankroll.

Great introduction! Interesting hypothetical, dreamlike text. It reminds me of the opening words in Bob Dylan´s "Ballad of a thin man": "You walk into the room with a pencil in your hand". It also makes me think of reincarnation. Get your priorities straight! Walk away.
