Bankroll management can save you!
« on: May 09, 2017, 09:05:22 AM »
Great bankroll management is KEY. It can save your money and mental balance. A good strategy can become a n amazing one with proper bankroll  management.

But I do have an additional stop loss AFTER I start making a profit. For example, once I make 100 units profit, I will only be risking like 50 units (not 150) from that point on. So, if I have a bad streak all of a sudden, I will leave with 50 units profit.

This old bankroll management stuff is very important and should be a whole new topic.
It is a long time I want to implement a rule like this.
The problem is how to divide playing sessions. Each time to visit the online casino? Each visit to the casino?
And most importantly, what if you just won 20 units? You put the rule into action immediately? So now you only risk 10 units?

that's an interesting topic that i'm working on since few months now cause i figured out having what i named it a stop win is at least so important as a stop loss. Sometimes very difficult to manage cause you can have a good streak and have your winning goal in a session of 10 minutes even five like yesterday and you have to decide yourself that it's done for that session or that day and go home or come back later.
i lost more in my gambling history cause i didn't implement a stop win at one point just because i won sometimes too fast and i was not able to stop and close the session. There's a lot to say around that but it's a very important concept in any money management method.

Best tip for bankroll management is to have no bankroll.
Initial money you have to play do not have a big importance,  if you can win optimally.
There is a need to cash out part of your winnings to preserve them for a later date. It looks natural in casino eyes as well.... they start to freak out a lot if you win too much units in one session. There is always an option to come tomorrow and start with higher unit to continue your game from where you left it ( in terms of bankroll management).

John Patrick's - up and pull /pocket half of the excess - method seems quite prudent.

great topic, I like to mention that one advantage casinos have on players is that they anderstand money management.   if we,as players, and not just as players in the casino but even buildt into our own lives would practice better management ,we would be in better shape financially.
what you hear most consultant speak about, regarding business or family problem is the old;

with no exeption that has to be on the forehead of every player.
1/   dont over bet your session making bigger bets then you should.
2/  dont give back more then 50% of session win ever.
3/  dont over state your welcome by staying too long or you could lose your focus and do something you could regret.

we dont need to have as much as the big banks or casinos in order to model their management skills.
what do they have that we dont?
A.  more cash then we do. solution;  we must know what amount we have and bet accordingly.
b.  total discipline. dont care what happen within a day's balance and know it is just a brick in the wall.  solution;  we should have a schedule and know when is our next visit so that we dont chase losses.
c. they play the same always their games without any difference in their actions, fully trusting the outcomes.  solution'  we have to know exactly what games we are playing and not differ from our knowledge of it, regardless of what happen in the short term.

another thing they have ; doing and creating a ambiance that do not reflect the "work" atmosphere and are magnificent in providing it.
solution;  remembrance of our mission at all time. what we are there and what our job is.
the latest may just be the most important point of it all.

good luck,

I also use bankroll but my strategy is by far more simple. I play until I reach my target (usually 20% of my bankroll) or I face a serious downhill which I try to recover than stop play that table immediately.

Some sound advice on bankroll management. Players interested in the "small wins per session" thread should consider using the valuable information posted here.

If it would be appreciated i can drop here my money management sheet, that made me money Independent within a year.
But you as a player should Always and i Mean Always stick to the same rules, day in, day out and never Cross any boudries.
1. A succesful gambler must have an irion discipline to become succesful.
2. A succesful player must not play with greed.
3. A succesful gambler must know that there is Always a tomorrow when things don't turn out the way they plant.

A year ago i starters with only 10 euro as a bank and played with 1cent chips for a very long time and was only making 10, 20,30 cents a day, now a year later i can but anything i would like to. But i must confess that i also Have learned the hard way. Still think that's the best lesson you can get. Learn from your mistake, don't bet blindly but Always play with a plan. Oh and not forgetting to leave you Credit/bank Card at Home, only take enough money to play a session with, nothing More. Have a Nice day friends. Oh by the way, is some might think i found the HG, Sorry i Have not, nor Will i find ever a System that Will get this title. I think the HG is the moneymanagement and not the System.

Thanks jekhb76. I am interested in your money management sheet.

I agree that money management has more power than systems. It is for this reason that I have one solid roulette business plan supported by a number of systems/strategies.

I look forward to viewing your MM sheet.

Systems are never 100% and for those times when the system is proving that, money management is there to fill the gap.

Really good topic.
I know from my experience, that sometimes I come to casino for 30 eur to win, and I go down 300. I call my friend to bring me some cash like additional 500 to get all my money back. Normally it helps. I get 100 or 200 profit.
Sometimes I came for 50 eur to win and I do 200 profit by one spin. What I would like to say by this, that you never know what is awaits you on roulette table, good or bad dealer, good or bad spins and etc.
So how you can manage your bankroll if you don't know, you will go deep down or you will fly like rocket up just in the seconds?
I know that at this moment I feel comfortable to play with 5 eur chips, if I hit 15eur straight, i'm happy! sometimes 25 straight, I call It jackpot, but if you miss more than 5 or 10 times, then you understand that your bankroll is eaten and time to go home.
Normally to play with 5 eur I bring 200 chips (1000eur)
With 10 eur chip (2000eur)
I still not tried 25 eur chips to play with 5000eur bankroll. Maybe this year later.
My target always 20% or 20 chips. Sometimes I get even more by luck.
Good luck to all. I hope some more members will share their experience about bankroll management.

Sorry guys, i've been very busy today, so i Will post the file when i get Home, sometime tomorrow, but for a start this was my First 20 days of play.

5 Mini sessions a day.
2 in the morning / 1 in the afternoon and 2 in the Evening.

Bankroll was €10.00 when i first started.
My chip value was €0,01 cent and my goal for each Mini session was €0,10 cent
Everytime i had reached Target of €0,10 cent i stopped. At the End of the day i had won €0,50 cent. I played this way until i had reached a bank of 1000 Times my betvalue of 1 cent. Sobi needed to play for 20 days to reach that goal.
I played online rng (not real roulette) but for playing with 1cent chips it's Just Fine. After 20days my bank was €20.00 so now i was allowed to raise my base bet to 2cent. 5 Mini sessions a day of 20 cent per Mini session is 1 euro a day. Now we need to play for 10days to reach our next level when we can play 3 cents.

So every 10 euo profit raise your chip level with 1 cent. 5 sessions a day until nex level etc etc etc. At one point you can raise every day a level of your base bet, Trust me it will go faster then you might tjink, but you need the discipline and the patience to play this way. Play until you Have reached your Mini session goal and quit to come Back 2hours later to can play rng up to 1 euro then swith to live roulette until you Have reached the point that you can play with 5 euro betts then turn to a real casino.
I only play Palestis Single Dozens System, nothing More, nothing less, with. Bank 1000 Times my base bet. Now playing for almost a year and nevet lost a session ever since. And i can Easy Make 2 to 500 euro a day, but i won't because that means i'm alot away from Home, and with a wife and 5 kids, it's not worth it. I now play at 100 euro a day. It's my job now. I play at 5 Different casino's for a profit of 20 euro per casino. As soon i reach my Target of 100 euro i go home to return the next day......

Thanks. Pretty much the same as small wins per session. I'm glad that the concept works and even more so with using Palestis single dozen system. 100%

On my Asian gambling trips I take £20,000 with me as my gambling bankroll.

I then take 5% of that to the casino each visit which is £1000 leaving £19,000 as my bankroll.

Should I lose the lot on my next session I will again take 5% of my bankroll which would now be £950

If I were to lose all that I would now have £18,050 and the next session I would take 5% which would be £902.50

Anytime I have a winning session or a losing session where I didn't lose everything I put the money back into the bankroll and recalculate 5% of the total for the next session.

I prefer to gamble in Asia for many reasons with the main one being the good exchange rate and cheaper cost of living.

I also use my bankroll to cover my daily expenses which every gambling book advises you not to do. However with the extremely favourable exchange rates I manage to factor this in as "gambling losses".

The above is not an exact science but never exposing your bankroll to more than 5% risk in any one session is as good a money management strategy as I have ever discovered.

I also use other money management strategies once I am in the casino with my 5%.

I use one of these to stash some winnings in (leaving the key in my hotel room safe)

I only ever play Roulette and Slots.   If I am playing slots I will put in for example $100 and print the ticket if the balance ever goes to $125 or higher. If I want to continue playing the machine I will put another $100 bill in.

This ensures once you go broke you will have a bunch of tickets for random amounts which I will then cash in individually.

The $100 bills can be used to play the slots again and the $10 $20 $50 bills I will put in the Gamble Box to ensure I will not be leaving completely broke whatever happens.

The roulette all depends what method I am using that day.  I am a big fan of the Parachute Progression however with a maximum risk of 35 chips over a maximum of 36 spins using follow the last to decide my next bets.

Nothing sweeter than a repeater  ;)
