##### How rare are three 0's in a row?
« on: January 11, 2016, 06:36:44 PM »
I ask this because a year ago I got my brother into roulette systems for a period of time. On a particular website, bitcoin video casino, if you spend one extra unit each spin you get a bonus of 250 units if you hit two 0's in a row and you get the growing jackpot if you hit three 0's in a row. Right now the payout is approx 3.3 bitcoins, or \$1500 USD.

I ask how rare it is, because as my brother and I were testing a system we had developed, he hit the 3 zeros in a row and collected approx \$2500 USD at the time. He cashed out immediately and has never played roulette again!

So my next question is... how can we exploit this in a way where bets might somehow cancel each other out, even though we need to pay in 1 unit to play for the jackpot.

Odds of hitting three of the same numbers in a row = 1 in 50,653

The probability of seeing any three numbers in a row is only 1 in 1,369.  The probability of seeing a specific number hit three times in a row is 1 in 50,653

The same odds for every three times in row number.
If you must wager every spin you could bet black and red simultaneously.

It is interesting to note that the probability of repeating numbers diminishes exponentially each time. This means that the probabilities for a number repeating 5 times are so low that most players will never witness such a streak in their entire lives.

The probability of a 5th repeat of a specific number is 1 in 70 million spins!
The probability of a 5th repeat of any number is 1 in 1.9 million spins!

For a specific number that you've preselected it's (1/37) ^5
For any number to repeat five times in a row it's one chance less (1/37)^4
After a number has already hit twice in a row, then there's a 1/37 chance that it will hit again making it 3x in a row.
After a number has already hit three times in a row, then there's a 1/37 chance that it will hit again, making it 4x in a row.
After a number has already hit four times in a row, then there's a 1/37 chance that it will hit again, making it 5x in a row.
After a number has already hit 50 times in a row, then there's a 1/37 chance that it will hit again, making it 51x in a row.

The point is mathematically, how many billions of times must the wheel be spun for us to expect to see a number repeat 50 times ?

I think this is pointless.

Just a question.
Doesn't " ANY three numbers in a row " include " a specific number " ?

Yes, it's just one of the many possibilities.
That's actually the answer why on every 37 spins cycle 12 or more numbers are missing while a dozen cannot miss for that long.
It doesn't have to do that dozens and/or columns and/or ''tier du cylindre'' are continuous numbers, it's because those bets are predetermined specific combinations of numbers.
To prove what I'm saying do the following: select any twelve numbers you like before watching the results and after check on the results if your twelve numbers have disappeared for thirty seven successive spins.
I bet my house that you are going to see at least once one of your twelve numbers.
This proves that dozens, columns and tier don't posses anything magical, just the maths.

and 37x37x37 =50653 ?
and for six spins 50653 x 50653 ?
and for 9 spins 50653x50653 x50653
and for a million spins ?
and our  critics wonder why we deal in the short term !

No we wonder how you're able to function in the real world.

That's interesting because the payout for hitting the same number three times in a row is £46,656 assuming you put £1 on a number straight up and let the winnings ride two times.
