2-Dozen Labby
« on: May 09, 2019, 08:55:57 AM »
This is a fun system for the 2 dozens that will be most enjoyable with very low minimums, like .01 or .10

I am pretty sure this is already posted elsewhere on this forum but I figured I would add it here because it is so much fun.

Simply bet the 2 dozens.  When you lose, you write the amount you bet, twice.

So we lose our first bet of 1 unit and so we write:

1 1

And as with a normal labby, we simply bet 2 units here and we miss and so we write:

2 1 1 2

I choose to rearrange this line so that it is:

1 2 1 2

We bet 3 and win!  So now we have:

2 1

Now we bet 3 again and win!  And we are at our all time high and return to a 1 unit bet.

LOL.  Just started.  Was going to update the OP with my initial results but somebody posted in here!

Let's say that we have a goal to lose a maximum of 15 units using this system.  Here is what that looks like:

1   2   -2   1 1               L      1 bet to recover
2   4   -6   1 1 2 2            LL      2 bet to recover
3   6   -12   1 1 2 2 3 3         LLL      3 bet to recover
3   6   -18   1 1 2 2 3 3 3 3            LLLL       4 bet to recover

So let's put this into a simulator and see how often we can win 10 units versus lose 18...

Hmmm, initial runs show a win rate of 87.4% O_o

That beats the tar out of the 4 step marty with only a 55% win rate!?

Checking code for errors...

OOPS.  Forgot about the zero...  :-[

Re-running...

Wow and 80.1% win rate!!!

Ok, I see I messed up the initial summary and it is 18 units lost but for an extra 3 units we gain about a 25% increase in the win rate!

Here is the simulator that I wrote:

Code: [Select]
10 RANDOMIZE TIMER
20 r = INT(RND * 37): sp = sp + 1: IF sp > 16777000 THEN 120 'output
30 IF r = 0 OR r > 24 THEN 60 'process loss event

40 'process win event
50 IF ll = 0 THEN ww = ww + 1: GOTO 90 'housekeeping
52 ' current line exists
54 ll = ll - 1: GOTO 90 'housekeeping

60 'process loss event
70 ll = ll + 1
80 IF ll = 5 THEN l = l + 1: ll = 0: ww = 0

90 'housekeeping
100 IF ww = 10 THEN w = w + 1: ww = 0: ll = 0
110 GOTO 20

120 'output
130 PRINT "Wins:"; w
140 PRINT "Losses:"; l
150 PRINT "Loss Rate:"; l / (l + w)

Ok thanks for that.  I just found another error.  A total loss is 4 events and not 5!

Re-running...

Ok, 65.5% win rate -- wondering if its worth the 3 extra units for a 10% win rate gain...

In order to gain just 3% in win rate gain using the marty, it costs an extra 16 units and so I think its worth it??

You know, I am thinking with a 65.5% win rate, we can actually afford to write off losses like the OP said; I mean when we skate to 3 days of win and a single loss knocks us back to the beginning of the 3rd day, why not just write the whole thing off and start day 3 over again?!

Hey, we might even try writing off ALL losses!  Like if we get a loss of 2 units, just ignore it!?  The only losses we have to pay attention to are LL, and we can bet just once for 2 2 and then write the rest off.
