Profit or not?
« on: February 24, 2018, 04:49:40 PM »
Every couple years, I ask the same question(s). I enjoy reading peoples answers. Its not to start an argument but rather to see how YOUR thinking works.

QUESTION >> You walk into the casino (its a large building with many games of chance), you are gonna play some roulette. Your buy in is $100. You eventually get that up to $150 (total). It drops a bit and you leave with $120. No other games were played etc.

Did you win OR lose for the day?
Did you make a profit for the day?

I have to add something kind of funny. If I recall, these answers are kind of slow. Why you ask?

The members tend to WAIT and view other replies first. They dont want to be the lone wolf with a "wrong" answer (lol). I find it funny!

You need no help from me. Besides, be a man, give an answer and stand by it no matter what. I cant make you look like an idiot after Kav's speech regarding BANS if insults are thrown around.Your answer to the question?

PS >> At least I dont HIDE behind multiple user names from board to board.

It depends when people push they normally also consider that a win, because you didn't lose. And if you didn't lose and are up you've won, unless it cost you 20 to get to the casino in gas, and you don't value the time spent getting that money you are even which is a win in my book.

Even if you break-even it is considered a win. Remember most games have a HE.

Personally i always have to achieve my target either deplete my b/r or win target all or nothing. Yea bash away.

Why ask rethoric questions Mr Eko ?

Poker.

For me it has always been a psychological game, winning is easy, leaving is not. I dare to say i can win 99 out 100 visits. To leave after a win is to win.

Ok, my opinion. I said opinion!!!  (lol) Stay calm all.

I say that person lost money. When he got it up to $150, no person had a gun to his head and made him continue to play. He could of left. Yes, he did LEAVE the casino with more money than he walked in with.

I can see both sides, maybe.  8)

It's a very simple answer for each question.

Q1) Buy in $100, high point $150, leave with $120.. Did you win OR lose for the day.

A1) Well you left with $20 more than you entered with, so of course you won for the day.

Q2) Buy in $100, high point $150, leave with $120.. Did you make a profit for the day.

A2) Well you left with $20 more than you entered with, so of course you made a profit for the day.

Sheesh.
